Who are You?

Updated: May 2, 2020

Who is the Lord? Who is this God we serve, the one our hearts adore? How would we describe Him to someone who has yet to be introduced? Who is He when doubt and trial muddy the truth? How would we describe Him to the skeptic, to the mocker?

These questions press my heart this morning. "Lord, show me who You are!" And oh, how He answered. Take a breath. Don't miss a word.

I, the Lord, the first, and with the last, I am He I, the Lord your God, hold your right hand. I say to you, "Fear not." I am the one who helps you. I the Lord will answer I the God of Israel will not forsake I will open fountains in the midst of valleys I will make the dry lands springs of water.

I am the Lord. I have called you. I will take you by the hand and keep you I am the Lord. That is My name. I will lead the blind in a way they do not know I will turn the darkness into light.

I have redeemed you. I have called you by name. You are mine. I will be with you. I am the Lord your God, your Savior. I, I am the Lord. And besides Me there is no Savior.

I am the Lord, your Redeemer, the Holy One of Israel I am the Lord, The Creator, your King. I, I am He who blots out your transgressions for My own sake. I will not remember your sins.

I will pour water on the thirsty land. I am the first and I am the last. Besides Me there is no god. Who is like Me? Let him proclaim it. Fear not, nor be afraid, have I not told you from of old? Is there a God besides Me? There is no Rock. I know not any.

(The "I" statements spoken in Isaiah 41-44)

Whatever facet, or comfort, or assurance, or encouragement you may need today, this is your God. He is.... everything. He has done.... everything. He will keep you always. Indeed, Lord, You are glorious. Indeed, You are Good. Indeed, You are God.
