Tread: Studies in Joshua
Tread — Studies in Joshua
An 18-Week Study
Step carefully and join us for an epic adventure as Israel crosses the Jordan and learns what it means to walk in the land the Lord has already promised to give them.
For forty years, Israel wandered in the wilderness. Now a new generation stands at the edge of the Jordan, looking across the water toward a land they have heard about all their lives. Moses is gone. Joshua has been called to lead. Before them are fortified cities, powerful enemies, and battles they cannot win on their own. Yet the command of the Lord is clear: arise, cross over, and take possession of the land He has given them.
Tread follows the Book of Joshua from the crossing of the Jordan to the settling of the land. Walk with Israel through the waters, stand outside the walls of Jericho, climb the difficult road back from defeat at Ai, watch the sun stand still over Gibeon, and follow the tribes as they receive their inheritance. Along the way, you will discover that Israel’s victories were never secured by military strength alone. They were called to trust what God had spoken, obey what He commanded, and follow where He led.
But Joshua is also a sobering account of how easily ground can be surrendered. Victory and defeat, obedience and compromise, remembrance and forgetfulness run side by side through Israel’s story. Again and again, Joshua calls us to consider what it means to take God at His Word, live faithfully in what He has given, and tread with purpose where He has placed us.
